PUMPKIN PACE 2008 The trail was approximately 6ish miles long and contained eleven natural and not so natural fences , four straw bale jumps, a coop, a corn stalk vertical, a lattice box jump, two log-constructed cross country style jumps, a tire jump and a log pile. We had 27 registered riders totaling eleven teams. The winning team was #2, Darcy Nusbaum, Linda Etzler, and Stacy Naugler with an optimum time of 50 minutes! We awarded a "fun time" winner to team #8 of Lisa Howell and Cathy Covell with a time of 68 minutes. And the costume award went to team #1B of Beth Zielenski and Susan Pinkerton who were carosel horses. We had a wide variety of horses and riders ranging from trail and western riders, gaited horses, to hunter/jumpers to even a Grand Prix horse! Nora McDonald stepped out of her trailer with, Topliner (aka Toppy), and showed em how a top level Grand Prix Show jumper does a hunt pace event in support of and to benefit USPC! The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the scenery was stunning. |
